Adriel, how old are you, a young men? I think that when we get old our body has less energy and this might become an issue, possibly at early age this doesn't happen because we are full of energy.

Not in the slightest, even if you get bored of the naked body form, there is a big difference when you are coming in sexual contact with a partner, we have more senses not only our sight.

I don't believe that watching a lot of porn will lead to erectile dysfunction. I am a good example of this , I watch a lot of porn and I am still very good.

I totally agree-- watching too much porn does cause a certain type of immunity. I also remember I had a friend of mine who came complaining that it use to burn when he passed urine because of excessive masturbation. Then, he had to stop masturbating for a while and it got better.
well, too much of anything is always bad guys! Just saying! ;)

I think it may have an effect, but only on a psychological basis. It's because men tend to be requiring more to get stimulated if they are so used to watching and seeing porn stuff already. So it may not be erectile dysfunction per se, but more of the fact that they need more for stimulation.

Absolutely not. There is no way that WATCHING pornography can cause you to develop erectile dysfunction. Even if you were masturbating everyday, you would not develop it as a result. Porn is more if a teaser than anything else.

I don't think it's pornography that's the problem. How can watching something cause erectile dysfunction? It's more likely that those who use porn that go on to suffer with erectile dysfunction probably do so as a result of excessive or compulsive (or bizarre methods of) masturbation. That's not really a problem with pornography, it's a problem with sexual addiction.

There is actually a TEDtalk on this subject (but you can only find it on YouTube now). Anyway, the gist of the study basically said that, yes, porn can definitely lead to ED. More importantly, it often leads to other problems, including relationship problems, self-confidence or self-esteem issues, and even depression. If you feel like you might be addicted to porn or are worried that watching porn might be causing ED, I would try giving it up for a little while just to see how it goes.

I don't think that it should have this type of effect, no. However, some people may find that porn movies stress them out due to the fact that they feel a much higher pressure to "perform" thanks to what they see people do on screen. For this reason, you may find that you can't live up to the standard that you feel you should, and this confidence knock could possibly cause ED in some cases. It is mostly in the mind - you will only find rare cases, in my opinion, where ED is down to a physical cause. Of course, though, you should visit your GP if you're unsure, as it is very important that you check which category you fall into.

I think it can because you lose the sensitivity to reality when you continuously watch fantasy. When you get with the real thing, you can't stop thinking about the fantasy and it doesn't compare. You do have to be careful how much porn you watch. After a while, porn won't even be all that interesting anymore because you've already seen it.

I don't know about this. I've watched a ridiculous amount of porn so far in my life, and I can still differentiate what's real and what's not, and it still interests me very much. I'm very much sensitive to my girlfriend's needs and porn is the last thing on my mind when I'm intimate with her.

I think most men realize that porn isn't real life, and you don't compare yourself to it. Remember, porn also offers an unrealistic portrayal of what the average man too, not just women. We don't all last 45 minutes and we're not all 9 inches.

One of the ways I could see porn leading to ED is that watching lots of porn = lots of masturbation, which could lead to damaging your penis. That would require a LOT of very rough masturbation, and at that point you probably have other underlying issues above ED.

I wish this site allowed for some snazzier fonts-----oops that's not part of the topic, is it?

Uhh, lets see, does watching a lot of porn cause erectile dysfunction? Don't know, to tell you the truth. I personally can't see it happening, not in the true sense of the words. I mean, ED is when you have trouble or can't get and maintain an erection.

The only time excessive porn would be the culprit is cause the guy is masturbating so much to porn, he's worn it out for awhile, but I don't think that is the true definition of ED. I can only imagine that ED may develop if the person is made to feel bad about watching a lot of porn in which case they may develop a complex which causes them to have ED. Other than that, I don't believe I have ever heard of a person losing their capabilities because of it.

Sure it might take more and more bizarre porn to get the desired results but that is not, in my opinion, the true nature of ED. In fact, I would think that watching some porn with your partner would be a cure if anything. There are films out there that are designed to not offend women and are actually geared at pleasing women while not freezing out their male counterparts.

As for the female version of ED, I find that if I masturbate too often with or without porn, I will have a more difficult time reaching climax with my partner, so if I know that I am in a sexual slump, and I think all women get those, I avoid masturbating so that sex with my partner is better, I would think it might be the same for men. If there is only so much erection to go around, why waste in on a picture screen and your hand?

I don't know if it causes actual physical erectile dysfunction, but I think it can certainly contribute to an unhealthy sex life. I'm not against porn and I don't think it's damaging on it's own, but like anything else if it becomes an obsession it could lead to problems.

The sex that's shown in a lot of porn doesn't reflect reality for either men or women. If you've got a generally healthy experience of sex that's one thing, but if porn is all you have to go by it could contribute to an unhappy sex life because you may end up holding your eventual partner (and yourself) to unrealistic expectations.

It's also important to keep in mind that the the sexual scenarios and positions shown in porn aren't designed to be pleasurable to the actors taking part...they're meant to look good. So trying to copy 'moves' or taking ideas too literally isn't always a good idea.

Of course it's all dependent on personality and life experience, so it seems too final to say that porn causes erectile dysfunction, but I'm sure for some men it could be one of several factors at the root of the problem.

How can a guy get ED just by watching porn? It's like a lady can't get pregnant just by watching porn. Watching too much porn will only give you wildest thoughts and you will fantasize things. There is too much drama. Things don't happen in reality. My boyfriend often gets wild ideas after watching porn and I am not always comfortable about it.

I think porn doesn't necessarily causes erectile dysfunction. There might be a relationship between the two though. It's more like the person just becomes more desensitised to sex. Like when a person becomes addicted to cigarette smoking, just one cigarette isn't enough, right?

When it comes to watching too much porn, it also applies. Say you are with your real life partner, maybe you will have unreal expectations since you likely relate real life with porn. And you need more and more stimulation then you are not able to perform well or perform at all.

But I guess this cannot apply to all people. There may be people who can watch porn a lot and still perform well. But I think there are still people who has their real life sex life altered because of watching too much porn.

I think that it is possible that the relationship between ED and watching too much or a lot of, porn, kind of answers the question. If a person has to resort to watching an excessive amount of pornography, perhaps they already have a problem with libido. Is it not possible that a problem with arousal might be a pre-exisisting

I have had personal experience where a boyfriend was a self-professed porn addict and although he did not have trouble with erection he had trouble ejaculating or cumming. I thought at the time he might have been compulsively masterbating and this led to desensitization. I have also heard similar symptoms when reading anecdotes on sexual addiction forums. I think acting out sexually with porn may include compulsive masturbation. Overworking the penis may lead to erectile dysfunction in this way.

Well, there's only so much oil in the can, if you know what I mean. The fact that he cannot ejaculate probably stems from the fact that he's masturbated fairly recently and he's just not fully restored. I don't think it has to do with desensitization since was still getting erections. He would have been fine if he hadn't masturbated that day, most likely.

What is excessive ? Randy Marsh excessive or worse ? It really depends on a person. I am quite potent so when I do not have a girl I need to let of the steam. Luckily for me I have some very good friends who always like to help a friend in need. I am not sure watching porn can cause anything but false hopes. We see those girls who are made perfect and girls see guys with 20 cm + size so sometimes your 'ordinary' girl can not turn you on.

It won't affect you physically, just emotionally which can lead to the same result from two different roads. The first is that you get too used to having it "on-demand" whenever you want it, which changes the level of how much you need or want it at all.

The second road is that if you have to deal with the games and bs women in today's modern world put you through, you might see this as an easier alternative without the harassment or mistreatment that women fire toward men routinely. As a result, you opt to have your needs met without the woman that causes you problems or has unreasonable expectations who makes you jump through hoops only to be selfish and barely satisfy you anyway. The end question many men ask themselves is: "Why bother?" and they then go for this solution instead to at least have their needs met partially rather than not at all.

It is totally different from erectile dysfunction, but I see how it could lead to the same place. While ED appears to be more of a physical thing with men, this is more along the line of emotional displacement to where women cannot meet men's needs, so they turn to porn.

Watching too much porn won't cause you to have erectile dysfunction. What usually happens is that you get desensitized by too much porn that you don't get excited anymore, thus you don't easily get an erection like you used too. Remember the first time you watched porn? You got a reaction right away I bet. But it's not the same when you watch the same thing over and over. You don't need to stop watching porn but like any other things that we can get addicted to, you should just watch in moderation. ;)

You're hanging around the wrong type of women if that's your experience. The trick is to be smart enough to identify when a woman is playing games with you and when she isn't. It's not always obvious, but if you're honest with yourself, you can usually identify it pretty quickly.

Men do the same thing, by the way, as I've witnessed many of my female friends get fucked around, lied to and played by men who only wanted to use them. The dating world, especially online dating, is a gongshow most of the time. Everyone assumes that finding a partner and being in a relationship is easy but the reality of it is that it isn't; it's hard work... and it makes sense that it would be. Nothing is easy in life, relationships are no different. If you stay true to yourself, don't blame others and stay honest, then you'll end up finding someone who'll respect you and treat you the way you feel you should be. If you bring in baggage from previous relationships, you have to take what you've learned and be able to identify what appeals to you in another individual and what doesn't. Generalizing and lumping everyone in the same boat will end up hurting just one person: yourself, because you'll end up missing out on potentially a great person because you're still hung up on that person who screwed you over previously.
