Porn simply desensitizes you as Ladyluck states. Someone who watches a lot of porn, due to the fact the he's seen to many naked women would not get aroused by the sight of another naked woman. That however doesn't mean that person has erectile problems. He can get an erection but the point is it would require more energetic measures to get his penis stiff: something like a massage with oil;)

Of course not. There is nothing wrong with watching porn and then masturbating. I would rather say it's pretty normal and there is nothing you have to worry about in this regard.

I do not believe that excessive porn viewing would cause ED. IMO ED can be caused by the usual suspects such as medical conditions, certain medications and stress related issues. I think the fallacy of claiming porn can cause ED is akin to saying masturbating too much will make you go blind.

I just recently went to docs and asked him this exact same question (due to having a recent operation down there). Absolutely not ! And regular masturbation helps with fertility levels too !

I do think it does play a role in ED. Having moderately read on this topic, I can say that this claim is backed up by resonable scientific evidence.

When you watch pornography, it over stimulates your brain and releases huge amounts of dopamine. And the brain then becomes addictive to this dopamine and craves for it more. No problem, just watch porn again and the craving should go away. Except that it's not that simple. When you watch a particular type of pornography over and over again, it becomes less desirable and less dopamine is released. So you automatically turn to something different (in most cases, more hardcore stuff) to get your dopamine fix. And the cycle goes on and on until you have seen it all and nothing can arouse you anymore.

But the brightside is that staying away from pornography for a given period of time, will increase your libido and hence will cure your ED. How long this period should be is subjective. Some see a difference within a few weeks while some take months. I'd highly advise anyone suffering from ED to stay away from porn whatsoever to get rid of the problem in it's entirety.

Actually, I just remembered that there was only one occasion I believe it was 'bad' for me.

A while ago when I was still in the college, one time I read some porn stories (in words only) on a user generated content site. It was actually awesome lol... i stayed hard for more than 3 hours straight while reading those very "exciting" stories. Afterward, I thought it was bad for my penis if it always stay that hard for that long lol. Other than that, any porn video or photo never made me stay hard for more than 20 minutes which would be also the normal span of a sex session lol.

I have also heard of studies that show that watching too much pornography can hinder your sexual performance. The reason is that you are so used to seeing gorgeous, naked women that when you see a normal looking naked woman you simply aren't as turned on as you should be. In reality, we can now see more naked women in 10 minutes than men used to be able to see in their entire lifetime.

To some it is a stimulating experience or else why watch it, right? I do not think it causes any ED problems per say, but can lead to unreal expectations in general. The average woman is not a porn star.

I think you have made some very valid points here. Fear of rejection is a major stumbling block to face regardless of any situation. And it is sad that some men are missing out on "real" women and vise verso just over a imagined or preconceived notion.

I highly doubt that watching porn will cause ED - rather, it may alter the type of stimulation required to get off. Anecdotally, I have found that plain vaginal sex will take me quite a long time to get off since it isn't as gripping as masturbating is. The sensation is less intense because when masturbating to porn, I'm able to control the pressure entirely meanwhile with sex, the tightness can vary quite a bit depending on woman and amount of lubrication.

I think that there should be some truth to this statement; although I feel the problem is more psychological than physical. Like in my case, there are days when I can't get the maximum level of hardness when I watch too much porn. It's as if I've been desensitized and everything I see seems so 'ordinary' and non-arousing. However when I lay off porn for a while and then I watch again then everything's back to normal again!

For me it's the other way around. I love porn, all kinds of porn and I have no problem getting my tool up. I think watching porn can help prevent erectile dysfunction rather than cause it.

Be careful though. You can easily and I mean easily get addicted to internet pornography. Everything is so easily available and consumable that it has become dangerous. Perhaps, this easy access can make you turn to porn more frequently and become addicted as a result. And once the addiction sets in, ED becomes much more probable.

I have never really heard of this. I guess I can see the point though. If you are so wrapped up in watching porn and all of the crazy stuff they do in their movies, you can become addicted to it and forget how good real sex for yourself can feel. But honestly I don't see watching porn as being that major of a factor. If you lose a desire to have sex, there are other issues that you are having personally.

Erectile dysfunction or not, watching pornography will certainly affect your sexual drive in an overall negative way, that is, unless you view it with a partner, in which case it may actually enhance sexual drive. At least that's been my own perception.

If you're watching it to get off on a daily basis, then you may begin to form unreal expectations of your partner (or future partners) which may negatively impact your relationships, or ability to have one altogether.

Ultimately, I think you'll have a harder time later on with getting an erection because 'normal' sex may begin to seem more 'boring' since the internet provides with all kinds of sometimes bizarre situational porn.

The answer is pretty simple and it's a no. Watching porn cannot cause erectile dysfunction. Erectile dysfunction is a problem that can have a psychological cause like depression, anxiety or stress or a physiological problem like diabetes, hypertension etc.

Also it is important to note what your understanding of erections and erectile dysfunction is. Sometimes people get an erection but they are not happy with it's quality. That does not qualify as erectile dysfunction. Erectile dysfunction is defined as the inability to achieve or sustain an erection sufficient enough for intercourse. Also, sometimes a lack of sexual life can cause erectile dysfunction.

So in my opinion, it would be fair to judge if whether you suffer from erectile dysfunction only when you have or trying to have an active sex life.

The only way if you masturbate to much. The thing is your penis just need rest when you over use it. Don't listen to people on here that say don't jack off or don't watch porn. I would rather jack off than sleep with somebody I don't know. If you are in a relationship jacking off will keep you faithful. Actually my fiance love for me to jack off when she is away.

For me at least seems to be so. Though I don't really watch vanilla stuff.

I think that one of the issues is that, as you masturbate more and more to porn, you get an immunity to the porn itself and you keep looking for more exotic things to get you stimulated. You start out watching a simple office scene and enjoying that, then, at some point, it no longer works, so you delve into crazier things and you end up watching midgets and clowns. Of course you'll have issues with vanilla sex after that.

It's like I said upthread, though. Taking a break for a few days or a month or so should help get you back to normal.

I've been watching it forever and I've never had any major issue with my performance, I think it really just depends on the person and what they eat realistically if your eating right you won't have any of these problems. Its all about blood flow and what increases blood flow is proper vitamin intake and also vitamin E of course it is great for increasing the blood flow.

I agree with this article partly, too much of everything is poisonous. The greatest problem is however, determining what is too much. Is watching porn twice a day, once a day, or once a week enough? Personally, I would not recommend watching pornography daily as it raises your expectations too high and when you are faced with the reality, you cannot perform. If you have to watch porn, please do it for the moves and what you can learn but not be too busy doing something else instead and not have time to learn a few tricks.

No bro. You don't have anything to worry about because I do it almost everyday and night and I haven't lost my hunger for sex with my girlfriend. Nor have I lost my ability to get erections. Of course, it can be different for different men. However, I don't think watching too much porn and masturbating a lot will have any effect on you giving a full salute. It will mess with your ability to come when a girl gives you a blowjob though, other than that no ED.

I have to agree with some of the other posters here. Porn gives you an unrealsitic view of the world. Everybody's willing; everybody's gorgeous; everybody's talented. When faced with the less-than-perfect reality, I can easily understand that psychologically it's a hard-on killer.
